Skin Archive
Academic Project
2026

Skin Archive is an editorial project developed in response to a brief by an independent publisher, built around the theme "(Re)Solução".

Skin Archive is a publication that explores how different cultures across the world use tattooing as a language of belonging, memory, and self-definition. The visual identity is built around a deep burgundy red and off-white, with halftone photography that treats skin and ink as texture, giving the entire project a raw, printed quality that echoes the physicality of tattooing itself.

The project extends beyond the book through two multi-format objects. The testimony letters are a series of cards collecting personal accounts from people with tattoos, each pairing an intimate written testimony with a halftone photograph of tattooed skin. The stickers reference the tattoo stencil, reating the printed surface the same way a tattoo artist treats the body: as a site to mark, claim, and carry meaning forward.
